Isle of Books Butte presents an eclectic collection of contemporary works by southwest Montana artists in the Summer 2026 season of RESIDENCE (con)Temporary Art Occupation.
Now in its second year, RESIDENCE will open from 5–8 pm June 5, 2026 during Butte’s First Friday art walk, with new art and installations by 22 invited Montana artists. The exhibit, located in a a series of uninhabited apartments in the Isle of Books building in uptown Butte (43 E Broadway), will feature ceramic art, painting, photography, mixed media works and a quirky “Museum of Loved Objects” installation. Open dates will be during Butte First Friday Artwalks June 5, July 3, Aug. 7 and Sept. 4, 2026, as well as during Montana Folk Festival (July 10-12, hours TBD) and by appointment.
Organized by Bozeman artist Kate Huston and Isle of Books owner Medellee Antonioli, the exhibit brings together works by:
