Do you have objects in your life that have no specific value, yet are inherently lovable? An object that you just can’t seem to throw away because you know or suspect it has been deeply and truly loved? The Museum of Loved Objects (MOLO) is a curated temporary exhibit of objects that are, were, or are suspected to have been, loved.
The Museum of Loved Objects, curated by artists Kate Huston and Marla Goodman, is open for a series of pop-up dates (5-8pm First Fridays June 5 – Sept 4 2026) as part of the Summer 2026 RESIDENCE (con)Temporary Art Occupation exhibit above Isle of Books, 43 E Broadway, Butte Montana. The exhibit is in a non-traditional 3rd story space with limited lighting and limited accessibility.
MOLO features a lovingly curated collection of physical objects on loan from their submitters specifically for this exhibit, as well as photos and artistic renderings of beloved objects. In the museum, MOLO catalog binders and the MOLO catalog audio tour feature backstories for each object written by the people who contributed them for temporary display. (Copies of the Museum catalog are available for purchase at Isle of Books at 43 E. Broadway Butte and Convergence Gallery at 202 W. Park in Butte.)
Exhibit Dates: The Museum will be open on a pop-up and by appointment basis, June 5 – Sept 30 2026
